Event List - 2022

COVID-19

Outdoor events

Unfortunately, at the time of writing (April 2022), we are still in the grip of the pandemic, and therefore what is and is not going to be possible in terms of meeting for mycological activity remains somewhat unpredictable. Therefore, please note that all events in this programme are subject to cancellation at short notice, if Government guidance or other conditions change. Updates will be posted in the News section of the website re. the status of upcoming events. If in doubt, ring the foray leader a few days before the foray.

If you have any symptoms which might indicate COVID-19, then please don't come to an event. If you attend an event, please observe sensible precautions.

Indoor events

We normally run indoor events at the Friends' Meeting House, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds. However, along with other public meeting places, it was closed during the lockdowns, so last year, we hosted online meetings via Zoom instead. These were quite successful - the only downside was that the ability to examine specimens brought by attendees was severely limited!

It now appears that the Friends' Meeting House is opening for face-to-face meetings again, and we are currently investigating the possibility of resuming our sessions there. For the moment, we will continue hosting online events via Zoom (the links for these will be sent out via email shortly before each meeting). If it becomes possible to host face-to-face meetings again, we will produce a new event list and advertise the fact in the news section of the web site

The agenda is generally the same for the indoor meetings, both online and face-to-face, viz.: reporting and hopefully identification of interesting finds (as far as is feasible, given that it won't be possible to pass specimens around for examination); and general catch-up and chat.

Craven Section

The Craven Section of MYFG, led by Archie McAdam, normally runs forays once a month in the Craven area of West and North Yorkshire. However, due to the covid restrictions, the Craven Section forays were suspended, and at present, there are no plans for resumption of them. If this situation changes, members will be informed, and a revised event list will be published.

Updates

Please keep checking the News section of the MYFG web site, http://www.myfg.org.uk - updates, cancellations and news of additional events will be posted here if necessary.
